IbogaineWiki

    Privacy Policy

This is our current version. We review this policy as the site develops and will notify members of material changes.

    1. Scope

This policy explains what information Ibogaine Wiki collects, how it is used, and what is visible to other people. It applies to everything on the site, including the public wiki and the Ibogaine Network.

    2. What we collect

    2.1 You give us

    • Account details: email address, username, password (stored hashed, never in readable form).
    • Profile details you choose to add: display name, photograph, biography, credentials, organization, job title, location, website, and contact details including phone, WhatsApp, and messenger handles.
    • Verification details: a work or university email address you submit for verification.
    • Content you publish: wiki edits, talk page messages, forum posts, reviews, ratings, Network posts, and files you upload.
    • Private messages you send to other members.
    • Reports and disputes you submit.

    2.2 We collect automatically

    • IP address and browser information, recorded at signup and at agreement acceptance.
    • Activity records: contributions, votes, reviews, standing, and moderation history.
    • Essential cookies required for sign-in and security.

    3. Why we use it

To operate your account and publish your contributions; to verify email addresses and organizational affiliation; to calculate standing, Trust Scores, and review aggregates; to moderate content and enforce these agreements; to detect manipulation, spam, and abuse; to notify you of activity relevant to you; and to meet legal obligations.

    4. What is public

The following are public by default and visible to anyone, including search engines:

    • Your display name and profile, once approved for public view.
    • Your wiki contributions and the full edit history attached to your name.
    • Your forum posts, talk page messages, reviews, and ratings.
    • Your standing and any verification badge.

You control field by field who sees each profile field: everyone, signed-in members, your connections, or nobody. Contact details default to private. Your profile is not indexed by search engines until a moderator approves it for public view.

Ibogaine Network content — professional profiles, Network posts, products and services, and uploaded data — is never indexed by search engines and is visible only to verified Network members, subject to your own sharing settings.

    5. Data you share with other members

The Ibogaine Network allows you to upload files and to grant named members access to them, in some cases subject to a confidentiality agreement between you and that member.

Where you grant access, the receiving member can download and retain the file. We cannot recall it, and withdrawing access does not delete copies already downloaded. Any confidentiality agreement is between you and that member; we are not a party to it and do not enforce it.

You must not upload data that identifies a patient or research participant, or any personal data you do not have a lawful basis to share. Remove identifying information before uploading.

    6. Sharing with others

We do not sell personal data and we do not display advertising. We share data only with the service providers who operate the platform on our behalf — hosting, database, and email delivery — under contract, and where required by law or to protect the safety of a person.

    7. Retention

Account and profile data is retained while your account is open. Public contributions are retained indefinitely as part of the site record, in anonymized form after an account closes, as set out in the Terms of Service.

Private messages, reports, moderation records, and agreement acceptance records are retained for safety, dispute, and legal purposes.

    8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, to receive a copy in portable form, and to complain to a data protection authority.

Requests can be sent through the contact link in the site footer. Please note the limits on deletion of public contributions described in section 9 of the Terms of Service.

    9. Security

Access to your information is restricted at the database level, passwords are stored hashed, and traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

    10. Changes

We will notify registered members of material changes to this policy.
