Community Principles
Ibogaine Wiki exists because knowledge about ibogaine has been scattered, siloed, and too often deliberately withheld. People have been harmed by that. This community is built on a different premise: that the whole field grows when what is known is shared openly, and that everyone in it does better as a result.
These principles are how that works in practice. Every member agrees to them on joining, and they apply everywhere on the site.
1. Share what you know
The default is open. Research, protocols, outcomes, failures, historical and cultural knowledge, and practical experience all belong here. Knowledge held privately helps nobody, and the field is small enough that hoarding it costs lives.
This includes work that did not succeed. Negative results and adverse events are among the most valuable things anyone can contribute.
2. Cooperation over competition
Clinics, practitioners, researchers, and advocates here are not primarily competing with one another. A larger, better-informed, safer field benefits everyone working in it. Contribute on that basis.
3. Safety is not negotiable
Ibogaine carries real cardiac risk and people have died. Never minimize that, never omit it to make something look better, and never present a protocol as safe because it worked once.
If you know of a practice that is putting people in danger, report it through the conduct report channel so it can be looked at properly.
4. Be honest about who you are
Say who you work for, who pays you, and what you stand to gain. Disclosed interest is welcome here. Concealed interest is not, and it is the fastest way to lose standing in this community.
Do not review your own organization, review a competitor, or ask anyone else to do it for you.
5. Write for the reader, not for yourself
The public wiki is a reference, not a marketing channel. Write neutrally, cite sources, and let people reach their own conclusions.
There is a place on this site for describing what your organization offers. It is the Ibogaine Network, and that is where that material belongs.
6. Assume good faith
Most disagreement is genuine disagreement. When someone edits your work, they are usually trying to improve it. Take it to the talk page and work it out.
Edit the work, not the person.
7. No trolling, no bullying, no score-settling
Reviews, ratings, votes, and reports exist so the community can see clearly. They are not weapons. Using them for retaliation, competitor bashing, or personal grievance is a serious breach, and it is usually obvious.
Criticism should be specific, evidenced, and about conduct or work.
8. Protect people’s privacy
Never post anyone’s medical information, treatment history, or private identity without their clear consent. This applies to patients, clients, participants, and anyone who told you something in confidence.
This matters more here than on most sites. Much of what people share involves addiction, mental health, and use of a controlled substance, and exposure can cost someone their job, their family, or their liberty.
9. Nothing is for sale here
No offers, no pricing, no availability, and no purchase links for ibogaine, iboga, or any controlled substance — anywhere on this site, in any section, in public or in private. This is not negotiable and it is not a matter of enforcement preference.
10. Standing is earned
Visibility on this site comes from contributing to it. The more you give to the public wiki, the more the site gives back in reach, standing, and access. There is no way to buy placement, and there never will be.
Breaches are handled through the moderation process set out in the Terms of Service. Sanctions range from a warning to permanent suspension, and outcomes are recorded in the public moderation log.
