Ibogaine carries a documented risk of serious cardiac events, including fatal arrhythmia. Risk is higher with pre-existing heart conditions, electrolyte imbalance, certain medications, and unsupervised dosing.

Screening you should expect

• A pre-treatment ECG and cardiac review by a clinician
• Bloodwork including electrolytes (potassium, magnesium) and liver function
• A full medication and substance history, including interactions
• Continuous cardiac monitoring during the session, with emergency equipment and staff present

Questions to ask a provider

• Who supervises the session medically, and what are their qualifications?
• What monitoring happens during dosing, and for how long afterwards?
• What is the emergency plan, and how far is the nearest hospital?
• What conditions or medications would make you decline a client?
• What aftercare do you provide?
